On the first day of our photosafari, in Arusha National park, about half an hour after our magical encounter with the giraffes in the lake, we came upon another lake that seemed to have soda deposits along the shore, and even down the middle. But as we approached, we saw that it was hundreds of thousands of flamingos! The road came within about 100 feet of the shore, and we watched the birds for a long time.
