Nancy Samantha Billingsly Hutcheson's gravestone, in Smyrna Cemetery in Bledsoe Co, TN

She is my great, great, great grandmother, and was born and died in Bledsoe County. I didn't get a good picture of this side of the stone. The photo of the other side of the stone, memorializing her husband, John Hutcheson, is much better.

The cemetery is also known as the "Hutcheson Cemetery". It roughly 10 miles north of Pikeville, Tennessee, and about 3 miles as the crow files (but 12 miles by road) from the Cold Springs community, where many of my Hutcheson relatives lived.

I watched the 2017 full solar solstice in from this cemetery, which is on a hill in the middle of the Sequatchie Valley with views of the mountains of Central Tennessee.

Other Hutchesons and a lot of Kuykendalls are buried about 50 miles to the north in another Smyrna Cemetery, near Cookeville, TN. Cissy Myers' parents are buried about 50 miles to the west in a third Smyrna Cemetery, near Irving College, TN.

Of about five mid-19th crypts remaining in the cemetery; this is the only one with a legible engraving. Samuel's brother John (my ancestor) is also reported to have been buried in this cemetery, but I have not found his crypt or stone.

There is a photo of the large memorial to Adam Blakeman, the town's founder, and a brief story about the erection of the memorial.
