Last Will and Testament of Leur Kuykendall Washington County, Pennsylvania In the Name of God Amen the Eighteenth Day of February 1782 I Lewis Cuykendall of the County of Washington Being Very Sick and Weak in Body but of perfect mind and memory Thanks be Given unto God therefore calling unto mind the Mortality of my body and Knowing that it is appointed for all men once to Die do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and Recommend my soul into the Hands of Almighty God that give it and my Body I Recommend to the Earth to be buried in Decent Christian Burial at the Discretion of my Executor nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall Receive the same again by the Mighty power of God and as touching Such Worldly Estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in the Life I give device and dispose of the Same in the following manner and form. First I give and bequeath to Seally Dearly beloved wife the chest and her Clothes and the Bed and Bed Cloths and three sheep and the Cos and the little pot. Also I give to my Older son Cornelius two Dollars for his Birth Right Likewise the Rest of my sons Benjamin and Samuel and Jeam and Abraham and John and Henry that is I define that they Shall all be Equalized in the Estate left behind. Likewise my Beloved wife I a lot her the interest of the money if she request it as long as she lives on the Estate. I do hereby allow and Every named, willed and Confirming this and no other to be My Last Will and Testament in Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the day and year above mentioned. Note: Andrew Nye is a child of the first marriage of Sally Roos, and step-son of Leur Kuykendall. Also, the word "Cos" in the second paragraph of this will may stand for Kass, a large, free-standing clothes chest or closet, a traditional Dutch piece of furniture.
