Anna Lucinda Cummins Darnall
NASHVILLE -- Funeral services for Anna Lucinda Cummins Darnall, 87, of Nashville will be held Saturday, April 7, at 2 p.m. at Hillsboro Church of Christ in Nashville. Burial will be in Smyrna Cemetery in Cookeville.

Family will receive friends Saturday, April 7, from 1 p.m. until time of services at the church.

Mrs. Darnall died March 31, 2007, at Lakeshore Meadows.

She was born April 4, 1919, in Cookeville to the late John and Willette Hutcheson Cummins.

Mrs. Darnall earned her BS and MA in education studying at Tennessee Tech University, George Peabody College and Murray State College.

She met Josiah Darnell while at Peabody and married him soon after the beginning of World War II.

Mrs. Darnall taught music in Mayfield, Ky. She had two sons, John Joel and Robert Cummins. After her husband's service in Germany, Lucinda taught kindergarten at home and Sunday school at Seventh and Popular Church of Christ in Murray.

She later taught choral music at Calloway Co. High. In 1975, she moved to Nashville with her husband and joined Hillsboro Church of Christ.

She was an avid international traveler and camper and regularly attended symphony, choral, chamber music and drama events throughout the area.

Her family includes her son, John Darnall; her sister, Clarice Hargrove; and two grandsons, Mason Darnall of Seattle, Wash., and Isaac Darnall of Nashville.

Crawford Funeral Home and Cremation Center (615-399-1115) in Antioch is in charge of arrangements.
