QUANAH - Eugene "Gene" Horton, 93, died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009.

Mr. Horton was born Oct. 14, 1915, in Quanah to Earnest E. and Nellie F. Godbold Horton. He married Neva Horton on Dec. 12, 1942, in Quanah.Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Church of Christ with Paul Brown, his son-in-law, officiating and Larry DeLong assisting. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park by Smith Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Sandra Brown of Quanah and Corky Holcombe of Carrollton; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
