Mary Sue, known as Sue, graduated with a Masters degree in music and education.  She attended Tennessee tech and Peabody. She immediately moved to Tucson, Arizona after graduation, seeking adventure and following a job offer as an elementary school teacher. She met Burdette Luckhardt and got married in 1945. Burdette, known as "Lucky", worked for Mountain Bell telephone company as a lineman, so the luckhardts moved all over Arizona, as he worked installing telephone line. As Lucky moved up the corporate ladder, his job required less travel, and they finally settled in Phoenix Arizona where he ran a telephone training school for Mt Bell, and raised the 3 kids there, though none were born in Phx. Sue's favorite place to live was Yuma. She also loved Tucson. She was very active in many organizations, and her church, "Camelback Church of Christ" she also taught many children how to play piano. She taught piano in her home up until age 82. Then retired and moved to San Diego with her daughter Merry Lynn Luckhardt-Johnson. Sue had a very positive outlook on life and was always cheerful and enjoyed laughter, art, travel, and music.  She had many talents including painting, playing piano and accordian.
