The dilemma of the two husbands for Rachel Hull has been known since early 2006.   I have found message posting to that affect that go back to that timeframe.

One thing for sure is that Rachel Hull was married to Moses Fitz Randolph.  In fact Sarah Drake Hull Folsom, the mother of Rachel Hull, indicates in her will (Proved 2 May 1749) that she bequeaths to her grandson, Moses Fitz Randolph two pounds; which is what she did for all of the first born of all her dead children.

I have taken the full text of the will and edited it down to the following key points.

"WILL OF SARAH DRAKE HULL FOLSOM, 1749

…

 Inventory of estate, May 19, 1749:
…a bond from Israel Folsom 100 (pounds), a bond of Moses Fitzrandolph 18. 05. 00, a Note of Thos Walker 3. 15. 00, …An accompl against Phineas Dunn, ..."

 Key Observations:

 Rachel Hull Fitz Randolph wife of Moses Fitz Randolph, Sarah Hull Dunn wife of Jeremiah Dunn, Zerviah Hull Martin wife of Mulford Martin were daughters of Sarah Drake Hull and were all dead before 1749.

 Of interest is that she gives Moses Fitz Randolph, her son-in-law three pounds as well; so he was NOT dead in 1749.  Why did she single him out of all her son-in-laws to get a separate gift; is interesting.

 Benjamin Hull, Jacob Hull are also sons that were dead in 1749.  Her son Meshack Hull is not mentioned which would indicate that he was dead and had no children to bequeath to.

 Outcome;

 It is my belief that based on the findings from the will above; that Rachel Hull was the wife of Moses Fitz Randolph and the “Rachel” that Zacharias Dunn was married to was NOT the daughter of Benjamin and Sarah Drake Hull.  Therefore, I am correcting that within our on-line family tree to reflect the findings from above.
