Dr. Warner Clark - CHURCH HILL
CHURCH HILL — Warner L. Clark, M.D., passed away Monday (August 27, 2007).

He was born in Leesburg community, near Jonesborough. He attended ETSU and graduated from the U.T. College of Medicine. He married Ruth Milburn, and after prayerful deliberations and much encouragement by his good friend, Isaac Wilson, he moved to Church Hill where he practiced medicine for 41 years, and the last eight years he practiced with his son, Dr. James W. Clark.

Dr. Clark was an active member of the TN Academy of Family Practice and a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice.

Dr. Clark was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Church Hill, where he sang with the choir, taught Sunday school and served many years on the administrative board as well as delegate to annual conference. He was active in the Church Hill Ruritan Club and worked with the Sequoyah Council of Boy Scouts of America.

He was preceded in death early in his life by his parents, James L. and Mary K. Clark; and later by his foster parents, Uncle James O. and Aunt Ruth Bacon; as well as 3 infant grandchildren; and his loving wife of 49 years, Ruth Milburn Clark.

Dr. Clark is survived by his son, Dr. James W. Clark and wife, Annette; daughters, Mary Ruth Grubbs and husband, Mike, Ann Schutz and husband, Randy, and Jan Dye and husband, Gary; six grandsons; 2 grand daughters; his brother Paul D. Clark and wife, Ruby; many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 5 to 8 P.M. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church of Church Hill.

Services will be conducted Thursday at 8:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ron Ramsey officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery near Jonesborough. Those desiring to attend should be at the cemetery at 9:45 a.m.
