Notes on Jeremiah Bacon and sons

  1. Jeremiah Bacon was born in Salem Co., New Jersey and moved to Maidencreek Twp., Berks Co., Pennsylvania after his marriage to unknown (wife maybe a Fronica?) Both Jeremiah and wife are buried in Berks Co., PA.
    [[ Janell later wrote that he was NOT born in New Jersey, but rather Berks County, PA]]
  2. Known sons born to Jeremiah and wife:
    1. Henry Bacon remained in PA
    2. Jeremiah Bacon Jr remained in PA
    3. Thomas Bacon remained in PA
    4. James Bacon moved to TN
    5. Charles Bacon moved to TN
    6. Isaac Bacon moved to TN
    7. John Bacon moved to TN
    8. Jonathan Bacon moved to TN
    All the Bacon sons served in some company in Pennsylvania during the Rev War; most were inactive [[sic]]except for John Bacon who received depreciation pay

      I have in my possession from Berks Co the following will for Thomas Bacon of Maiden Creek Township, Berks County Pennsylvania, which says, in part
      I give and bequest to my daughter Nancy Bacon (daughter of Catherine Boda) all the residue and remainder of my estate
      ...I do hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my kind friend William Neis whole and sole executor
      ...I have hereunto set myhand and seal the eleventh day of the twelfth month one thousand eight hundred and seventeen 1817"
