from "The Hull Family in America", Compiled by Col. Weygant and published by the Hull Family Association, 1913. Page 266. (available at the Internet Archive?)

59. Ensign Benjamin Hull, of Piscataway, Middlesex Co., NJ, yeoman, son of (10)Capt. Benjamin and Rachel York Hull, was married in 1704 to Sarah Drake, 1686-17_, daughter of Rev. John Drake and his wife Rebecca Trotter, who was the daughter of William Trotter and his wife Catherine Gibbs, who was said to have been one of the first eighty settlers of Elizabethtown, N.J. The Rev. John Drake was a son of Capt. Francis Drake and his wife Mary of Piscataway. Capt. Drake was a son of Robert Drake of Portsmouth and Exeter, N.H. Sometime before 1740 Benjamin Hul's widow, Sarah Drake Hull, was married to her second husband, Israel Folsom.

Benjamin Hull was commissioned Ensign of the Piscataway Military Company No. 4 of Col. Thomas Farmer's Regt. of N.J., in 1713. By his will, dated June 5, 1731 and probated Jan. 4, 1733, he conveys to his wife Sarah the benefit of his home lot and one third of his moveable estate; to his oldest son Joseph, ten shillings, and each of the remaining five sons a one-fifth interest in certain real estate. No mention is made of any one of his five daughters. This would indicate that those of the number who had not married and received marriage dowers had died unmarried previous to the making of said will.

Notes

  1. Benjamin Hull was my 7x great grandfather. His daughter Ann, who married John Skillman, marks the end of my Hull lineage.
  2. I am sure that the notation "191a", "191b", etc. is not mean to suggest that Ann, Elizabeth, Zeruah, and Eunice Hull were children of Meshack Hull. Rather, those four children of Benjamin Hull Jr must have been omitted from the numbering in an earlier version of the book, and thus were inserted this way.
