Hopewell Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Dandridge, Jefferson County, Tennessee, USA

Notes: 202 Interments, including my great*5 grandparents, John B Blackburn (1741-1808) and Janet Matthews (1747-1818). He was born in Pennsylvania, the son of immigrant Benjamin J Blackburn. I don't know her origins.

According to Wikipedia, Dandridge calls itself the second oldest city in Tennessee. A large part of Dandridge, including most of the historic commercial center, sits below the high level water mark of Douglas Lake, and is protected by a saddle dam. It was protected from the TVA reservoir possibly because of an appeal to Eleanor Roosevelt, noting that Dandridge was the only town in the United States named for the wife of George Washington.

The cemetery is in town, just opposite the center of town from the lake.
